When he first came to this practice (18 years ago) he had particular training in eye problems. My previous cat, Rama, had an eye puncture infection when a 5 month old kitten. Dr. Duryea saved his eye and vision. Four years ago Rama had to be euthanized at age 15 under emergency circumstances. Dr. D. was so kind and patient with my shock and dread of having to do this, and sent me such a nice letter of understanding and condolence. Now he looks after my new cat, Robbie, with obvious love and expertise. Dr. D. is a wonderful vet who deserves immense praise. I highly recommend him and the 7 other vets in this practice. They confer if there is a report or problem and always call and follow up. Reception and vet techs are also excellent. In 2018 the Copake Veterinary Hospital was voted best in Columbia County, NY.
